Erie House has been serving the Chicago community since 1870. From its humble beginnings as a church, it has blossomed into a modern organization that provides comprehensive support for families in need. The non-profit serves as a pillar of support for more than 20,000 people every year — providing childcare, education, legal services, mental wellness services, and much more.

To support Erie House’s important community work, members of the Peoples Gas Listo!+ business resource group organized a volunteer effort. With paintbrushes in hand, they freshened up an Erie House classroom and hallway, installed privacy fencing in a playground area, and helped tidy up the grounds around the facility. The volunteers used the same precision and care they do when dealing with Peoples Gas customers and equipment to complete these projects.

Peoples Gas’ Listo!+ team members are just getting started in 2024. They have several other volunteer efforts planned. It is all part of a culture of commitment to giving back to the communities we serve.
